KYUNGKOO KANG
b.1952, Korea
강경구 작가는 작품을 통해 도시와 산에서 느껴지는 감정과 아우라를 포착하여 회화로 표현해 오고 있다. 그는 인간에게 영향을 미치는 자연과 환경에 대한 이야기를 풀어나가기 위해 국내외 여행을 적극적으로 다니게 되었다. 인도, 몽골, 티베트 등 문명화 되지 않고 인간 본연의 모습을 들여다볼 수 있는 곳에서 생명력을 발견하고 익명의 도시인, 평범한 일상을 그의 시선과 표현력으로 새롭게 재구성 하였다. 굵고 시원한 붓 터치와 아크릴, 먹, 흑연 등을 사용하여 특정한 재료에 국한하지 않은 다채로운 작업을 하고 있다. 금호미술관, 사비나미술관, 백악미술관에서 개인전을 개최하였고 국립현대미술관, 서울시립미술관, 대전시립미술관, 아르코미술관, 일민미술관, 성곡미술관, 아트센터나비 등에서 작품들이 소개되었으며 2000년 이중섭 미술상을 수상하였다.
